The Himalayan cuisine has reached a large market and gained popularity in the Delhi restaurant industry in the past few years, and since there are only a few known joints serving this cuisine, there is a lot of scope for new entrants. The newest in this category of food and beverages is Druk, located in the hustling and bustling M Block Market of Greater Kailash 1.
It is located right next to Brown Sugar, on the second floor, and is a bit inconvenient in terms of the narrow flight of steep stairs leading up to the second floor. I wasn’t impressed by the interiors either, since they’re all green but the food makes up for everything. And overall, I had quite a pleasant experience.
The food menu consists of the authentic himalayan dishes as well as some continental dishes to give more variety. They don’t have a mocktails or beverages menu but they do serve soft beverages on order, including mocktails. Although I would have liked it more if they had used better quality crockery.
I tried the following items and relished them all:
Black Mushroom Dimsums: The dumplings were heavenly, and the black mushroom filling was just too delectable!
Mixed Vegetables in Thai Basil Sauce: The veggies were fresh and the gravy tasted delicious.
Thai Basil Fried Rice: The rice were absolutely delicious and full of flavour.
Vegetable Noodles: Again, the quality was good, like the rest of the food, and I really liked it.
Nuts and Caramel Roll: This turned out to be a chocolate and nut roll since it had lots of chocolate and no caramel. But it was really good. I loved it. It was like a spring roll full of chocolate.
Recommendations: Black Mushroom Dimsums, Thai Basil Fried Rice and Nuts & Caramel Roll.
