A colleague and dear friend first introduced me to FreshMenu back when I was working in Mumbai. She would keep talking about the delicious salads and desserts, being a complete salad freak and dessert lover that she was. On the other hand, I had a major aversion to salads, because I could never consider them to be real food especially because I’m a vegetarian. Anyhow, she tricked me into ordering a salad one day, and what a treat it was! From that day, I would order a salad from FreshMenu every now and then and even got my other colleagues to give it a try.
Sadly, I moved back to Delhi, and forgot all about FreshMenu as they were only serving in Gurgaon back then and I never thought that someday they’d open up a kitchen in Delhi as well. When I realized that it had finally happened, I was ecstatic and so eager to try their food after a long time.
I ordered the following dishes and loved each one of them:
The Summer Salad: A fruit salad consisting of melon, watermelon, grapes and some lettuce with almond flakes and a beautiful dressing, this one was a hit! I wouldn’t usually order a fruit salad, but as it was the only option for the day, I decided to try it and was glad that I did.
Corn Fritters: More than the corn fritters, I loved the sweet chilly dipping sauce served with it. I pretty much drank the dipping sauce after finishing the corn fritters.
Veg Dimsums: One of the best dimsums I’ve had till date. They were absolutely gorgeous looking and tasted heavenly. Again, kudos to the team on making such amazing dipping sauces. One of them was a soya, garlic and ginger based sauce, which turned out to be my favourite.
Cottage Cheese Creole: A delicious cottage cheese creole with a nice gravy with the most delicious rice I’ve ever had. I’m one of those people who like some gravy with their rice, but the rice itself was so flavoursome that I could have it just by itself.
Coconut Choco Custard Cake: As soon as I saw it, I was reminded of the custard cake that my grandmother used to make a long time ago and it brought back so many memories. It isn’t something you see these days yet is one of the most amazing desserts, and they nailed it. Although, I wouldn’t mind more custard with the cake.
Pineapple, Celery and Mint Drink: This drink was like a meal in itself because of the ingredients used. Perfect for the evening when you’re a little hungry but don’t want to go overboard.
Another thing that I’d like to mention is the wonderful packing. The boxes are so neatly made and the food is served in the best possible way. Their delivery is always bang on time and on top of that, they have a different menu each and everyday. So you can order something new every day! And it’s quite reasonably priced for the quality of food that they provide.
