House of Commons is a newbie in the M block of the ever growing and happening Connaught Place area of Delhi. It commenced operations only a month ago and is doing quite well already. It’s a great place to go out with friends, in large groups for a drink or two. It also offers sheesha, in endless number of flavours so it’s definitely a good deal for hookah lovers and fans. The menu is quite varied with options ranging from Indian and Chinese to Italian and Lebanese.
The interiors are quite trendy, although the walls are such that they make the place look dimly lit. The music is usually quite loud and hence it’s out-and-out a party place!
I went to House of Commons on a late Sunday night. I was provided with the 3 menus, for sheesha, drinks and food. All the menus had a number of options so I decided to order a Paan Sheesha (even for paan, they have 4 to 5 different options), a red wine sangria and soya tikka, chicken tikka and cheese and vegetable spring rolls for starters. The food was surprisingly good. The soya tikka was definitely my favourite, being cooked and marinated quite well. The sangria was just right, giving that sour taste of wine, yet balanced with sweetness. I went on to order the main course and decided to go with North Indian. I ordered dal makhani, malai kofta with lachha parantha and pudina parantha. I loved that they serve their main course with a bread of choice and chutney on the side, so that you don’t have to ask for these separately. Different people take orders for food, drinks and sheesha as they’re in charge of their section, which ensures that the customer gets exactly what they want.
They will soon launch various gaming activities and already have a projector ready for all English Premiere League fans, starting next week.
